TOKYO--()--The Japan Natto Cooperative Society Federation (Arakawa-ku, Tokyo / Chairman: Yoshiro Noro / hereinafter, “JNCSF”) launched the “Natto Power: Japanese Fermented Food Natto, the Key to Better Living” website in March 2023 to introduce Japan’s traditional health food, natto. Since its start, the JNCSF has continued to increase the amount of new content, added multilingual capabilities with English and Chinese websites, and frequently improved the ease of viewing.

Natto website enhanced even more

This update has added a short animation to the top page to increase opportunities to come into contact more with diverse information about natto, and to increase usability even more. It has also added a function to link from that to the content (https://natto-power.com/index_check.html). Additionally, at the bottom of each content page, buttons have been added to allow access to related content. Visitors can now easily access information about natto’s hidden health benefits, expected functionality or fun trivia at random (https://natto-power.com/natto/index3.html).

Also, in the content about the health science of natto, which features a lecture by an expert about natto research from a scientific perspective, “Learning from the Past to Understand the Future Through Food and Microorganisms: From developing new functions for natto to the correlation between food, intestinal bacteria, and health” (Professor Jun Ogawa, Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University), making the content even richer (https://natto-power.com/science/).

Natto super popular at a Las Vegas fair!

Many of the visitors to the Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas, where we exhibited natto, Japan's traditional fermented food, to get people to know about it, tried samples. Some Americans had never had it before, but overall, the responses were very positive. In addition, many visitors were interested in the possibilities and latent power of natto, such as its various contributions to health and as an ingredient for cooking. We got a solid response as to whether we could introduce natto to new markets in the United States and around the world.

Keep your focus on Natto Power!

The JNCSF is working to increase the spread and awareness of natto culture and food. We will appeal to natto’s value while touching on its health effects, and not just how good it tastes. As natto continues to attract a great deal of attention from the world's food markets, we hope to promote this traditional Japanese food, which has long supported the foundations of Japanese food culture, including the development of a natto mascot character, to a level where it is recognized by people all over the world.
